With brePRINT 05 surgical guide, the bredent group is expanding its 3D printing portfolio to include a TPO-free material for the production of surgical drilling templates for guided implantology.

The transfer of digital planning into clinical reality is a key challenge in guided implantology. Even minor deviations in the workflow can affect the position of the implant. brePRINT 05 surgical guide was developed to support navigated implantology through the use of a drilling template and to enable the precise transfer of the intended implant position into clinical practice.

The new resin has a flexural strength of at least 70 MPa and can be autoclaved. Therefore, it meets the need for dimensionally stable and hygienic drilling templates for surgical applications. Its visual process control is a key feature. Depending on its processing status, the material changes to a specific colour: After printing, the drilling template appears yellowish, after light-curing it turns greyish, and after autoclaving it turns milky translucent. This allows the current processing status of the drilling template to be clearly identified.

Other properties include a low viscosity of 575 mPas, which helps fluid processing, thermal stability up to 130°C, and a shelf life of three years when stored correctly. The material is suitable for printers in the wavelength range of 385 to 405 nm.
